Call Graphs
A call graph shows the objects involved in a transaction or a data access path, and the links between them. Because some transactions touch thousands of objects, CAST Imaging offers three display modes to balance detail against performance.
Reduced call graph
The default mode. CAST Imaging removes objects that are less important to understanding the flow. The result loads quickly and is easier to read.
Use this mode first. Switch to a different mode only if you need more detail.
Available when the call graph has fewer than 500 objects.
Simplified call graph
Shows only one level of objects: the direct callers and callees of the entry point, plus start and end points.
CAST Imaging uses this mode automatically when a call graph has more than 500 objects. You can also switch to it manually.
Full call graph
Shows every object in the call graph. This can be slow for large transactions.
Call graphs with more than 3,000 nodes or 8,000 links cannot be displayed in Full mode. CAST Imaging will show a message and offer a CSV download instead.
Switching between modes
Use the buttons in the left panel when viewing a transaction or data call graph:
- Show Simplified Call Graph — switch to Simplified mode.
- Full Call Graph — switch to Full mode.
- Click the active button again to return to Reduced mode.
