Manage Roles and Permissions

Create and edit roles, assign resource permissions, and assign roles to users or groups.

Before you start

Who this is for CAST Imaging administrator
Role required Admin or Super Admin
Prerequisites Users created

Open the Roles panel

In the Admin Center, click Roles.

Default roles

Four roles are provided by default. They cannot be deleted or modified.

Role Access level
Viewer Read all application data; read saved views and annotations
Editor Viewer + create tags, annotations, custom links, saved views
Admin Editor + manage users and application settings for the tenant
Super Admin Full access to all tenants and all settings

Create a custom role

  1. Click Add role.
  2. Enter a name.
  3. Select the applications the role can access (one, many, or all).
  4. Set resource permissions (READ, CREATE, UPDATE, DELETE) for each feature.
  5. Click Save.

Assign a role to a user or group

  1. Open the Users panel.
  2. Click a user.
  3. In the Roles field, select the role.
  4. Click Save.

For groups (LDAP), assign roles in the LDAP group mapping. See Manage users.
